• Lodgment status - income tax

    This screen displays the relevant lodgment status for a client who is currently registered with us as having an active income tax obligation. The information displayed is for the current financial year and provides up to three years history.

    Current financial year field descriptions:


    Financial year ending

    The current tax financial year for the client.


    The current status of the income tax return.

    Due date

    The date the income tax return is due.


    Partnership returns do not have a due date for lodgment displayed.

    SAP code

    This is the code allocated to taxpayers who have been given approval to adopt a substituted accounting period (SAP).

    History for up to three years field descriptions:


    Financial year ending

    The tax financial year for the client.


    The current status of the income tax return.

    If your client has further income tax returns to lodge, the Return not necessary button will be displayed on this screen.

    Select the Return not necessary button to inform us if your client has:

    • no obligation to lodge an income tax return for one or more years
    • no further tax obligations.



    Under current legislation, super funds are required to lodge income tax returns, regardless of income. Therefore, you do not have the ability to submit requests via the Tax Agent Portal for either:

    • Further returns not necessary
    • Returns not necessary.
