Tax type details - by income tax year
This screen allows you to view transactions that total the selected tax type or interest amount. The total of these transactions will be the same as displayed on the ‘Tax type summary’ screen.
The amounts displayed relate to liabilities raised. They may not have been paid.
Make sure that all activity statement obligations for the income year have been met before using the information to help prepare tax returns.
The year will vary for different tax types. For example, a fringe benefits tax year is from 1 April to 31 March, and for goods and services tax the year is from 1 July to 30 June. For income tax, the period is referred to as an income year and is usually from 1 July to 30 June. However, the income tax year may differ if a substituted accounting period (SAP) exists.
