• Refund request

This screen provides information for using the Refund request function in the Tax Agent and BAS Agent Portals.

The Refund request function allows you to complete a refund request for an account with a credit balance:

    • Only one refund per account, per day can be submitted.
    • The function requests details of the refund and allows you to confirm the details.
    • Refund requests will be processed within current service standards and are subject to the normal scrutiny and integrity checks.

Before issuing a receipt number acknowledging the request, some basic processing checks are carried out. If there is an error preventing the processing of a refund, a message will be displayed and a receipt number will not be provided.

For more information about these messages, refer to Refund request - error explanations and advice .
    Tax Agent Portal only

Electronic refund requests are not available for higher education loan program (HELP), financial supplement accounts or superannuation accounts.
