• Prepare activity statement - fuel tax credit (FTC)

This section lets you record details of your fuel tax credit (FTC) entitlement for your activity statement.

You should claim the fuel tax credit when completing your activity statement for the tax period which applies for goods and services tax (GST).

You will need to calculate the dollar amount of your fuel tax credit entitlement. To do so, determine your eligible litres for each fuel type and for each activity that has a different fuel tax credit rate. Then multiply the eligible litres by the applicable rate.

Do not include any decimal point or cent amounts (round this value down to the nearest whole dollar amount). For example, instead of entering $124.75, enter $124 only. Do not use litres.

For tools to help you work out your claim online, see Fuel tax calculation worksheet.
