• Private ruling and objection - file attachments

    This screen requires you to attach your private ruling application or objection file and allows you to attach up to five additional files. You must attach at least a private ruling application or objection file.

    Attachment guidelines 

    The portal can accept files of up to 4MB each in .doc, .rtf, .xls, .tif, .png, .jpg .gif, .zip, .mpp, .ppt, .pdf,.bmp, .docx, .dotx, .xlsx, .xltx, .pptx, .potx, .ppsx formats.

    We recommend you:

    • provide any image files in black and white with 200 dots per inch resolution
    • ‘zip’ large documents
    • compress images.

    To attach your private ruling application or objection file

    1. Select the Browse button adjacent to the private ruling/objection application field.
    2. Follow the instructions in the file selection dialogue box to locate and select the file on your computer.
    3. Select the Attach button adjacent to the Private ruling/Objection application field.

    The selected file will appear in the Attached files box and will be identified as your application. You can only attach one application file.

    To attach additional files

    1. Select the Browse button adjacent to the Additional attachment field.
    2. Follow the instructions in the file selection dialogue box to locate and select the file on your computer.
    3. Select the Attach button adjacent to the Additional attachment field.

    The selected file will appear in the Attached files box. You can attach up to five additional files.

    If you have more than five additional files to attach, you can use the Further information online form immediately after you have successfully submitted your private ruling or objection online form. The Further information online form is accessed from the Private rulings and objections start page.

    If you are sending additional files other than through the portal, make sure you include the portal receipt number for your private ruling application or objection on these files. The receipt number is provided on a confirmation screen when you have submitted the online form.

    To remove an incorrectly attached file

    1. Choose the check box next to the file you wish to remove.
    2. Select the Remove files button.

    The selected file will be removed from the Attached files box. If you have removed your application file, you will need to attach another file in the private ruling/objection application field.

    To submit your attached files

    Select the Next button when you are satisfied that all files are correctly attached.

    A receipt number will be provided on a confirmation screen when you have submitted the form.

    The online form is stored in Mail. You can view any online forms that you have submitted by selecting Mail on the left navigation bar – Sent items view.

    Rejected file messages

    Submitted files may fail to transmit successfully. If any of the attached files are rejected, a message will be sent to your Mail – inbox. The message will identify the rejected files and give reasons for the rejection.

    Rejected file messages will usually appear in your Mail – inbox within a few minutes of submission. However, some may take up to 72 hours.

    To complete this transaction

    Sign the declaration page using your, electronic signature. 

    You need to sign the transaction with the credential you logged in with.
