• Private ruling - select main subject

The ‘Private ruling – select main subject’ screen asks you to indicate the main subject that your private ruling question is about.

A private ruling question can be about more than one issue or subject. To select a main subject choose the subject category that best describes the main issue in your private ruling. You can select only one main subject.

The main subject information will determine the area in the Tax Office that will process your application.

To select the main subject of your private ruling

On the ‘Private ruling – main subject information’ screen:

    • choose a subject from the drop down list – if the subject of your private ruling is not listed, select ‘Subject not covered’, and
    • select the Next button.

The ‘Private ruling – required information’ screen will be displayed.
